Sorry, about the slip up and the empty post. I meant to ask if you feel so good about being stark naked that you often forget that you are naked. Have you ever bumped into someone dressed because you did not notice that a textile person just came in? What about another nudist seeing you by surprise?

Author: David Date: 8/10/2003

Absolutely, absolutely! I had been going nude at our new house for 3 days straight. My wife didnt care and neither did her sister who stopped by. I was used to being naked around both of them. I got so comfortable with the nudity that I appeared nude in my garage in front of a neighbor, who came over to welcome us to the neighborhood! Fortunately, they didnt mind and continue to be good neighbors to this day. I just started talking to them, and it was about 10 seconds before I realized I was naked!

I work from home (in the nude, of course), and I have just completed my first novel. So for a few months I hardly went out, my partner did the shopping, so I remained naked for prolonged periods of time. As a break from my work, I do something physical like gardening, also naked. I became so use to it that I would not realise that I was naked. The odd time I had to go out I really begrudged having to dress. I would answer the door naked, people who knew me were not bothered, but I shocked the postman, stunned the insurance salesman and the vicar nearly fainted. I found the more you are naked, the more you get used to it, and the more you want to stay that way. I live in a semi-rural area, but I have not wandered down to the shop nude yet, but maybe in time. Perhaps I will cut the front hedge or clean the outside front windows in the nude to see what happens.

I presume from your "handle" you are female and from your style probably live in the UK. I dont imagine the callers were shocked, but just surprised. I trust that you have not covered up for them subsequently as once you have been seen nude you cannot turn the clock back! Incidentally quite a few clergymen are naturists. Virtually all my visitors or callers accept that I will be nude and I am probably a less attractive sight- male and retired!

Author: nudedoll Date: 8/11/2003

Very perceptive Peter! I only dress when I have to go out, so I always welcome callers naked. Because of my lifestyle, I am considered a local eccentric, but I can live with that. My philosophy is that I would rather be naked and considered an eccentric, than not be naked, and not be considered eccentric. Since my last response on this topic, I have trimmed my front hedge naked. A few motorists hooted their horns, and some passers by bid goon morning. No harm done, but my arms are scratched from the sharp bits of the hedge, a small price to pay.

Author: Peter Date: 8/11/2003

I am not sure whether you were being sarcastic!!!!!!I am not at all surprised that you did not have an adverse reaction when your were trimming your front hedge. I look forward to our report on your visit to the shops! As I spend 99% of the time nude (including while my 91 year old mother in law is visiting) I find it most irritating having to dress to put the rubbish out, clean the car or buy a newspaper etc.- but I am not sure whether the nude male would be so readily accepted. However, I am becoming more and more convinced the average person is not in the least concerned about non-sexual nudity. There is an e: mail section in The Times where readers write on current topics. Today there were six letters concerning Steven Gough, who is attempting to walk nude from Land End to John o’ Grouts. All six felt there was nothing wrong with the nude body and people should be free to go around nude- only one of those writers felt that nudity should be confined to the home or designated areas out of consideration for others. Whilst The Times is part of the Murdock empire (i.e. The Sun with joined up writing!), I am sure that the readership is middle aged or older, conservative and Conservative- despite the editorial policy of favouring Labour. A couple of days ago, I noticed an attractive girl crossing the road and she was wearing the briefest of bikinis- I am sure she would have been far less provocative completely nude.

Thanks Peter for your opinions and hats off to Mr. Gough for his endeavours, although he is not a true nudist with boots on! Clothes should only be worn as protection against the cold, although I enjoy a nude romp in the snow, it is usually for a short period, but I have seen extreme hypothermia, after prolonged spells in very cold conditions, and it is not pretty. Clothes are useful as a general protection if you are welding or bee keeping. There is a thought, nude bee-keeping! I plan to go to the local shop nude soon, when I summon up the courage; after that the world is my lobster.

Author: Peter Date: 8/11/2003

I cannot keep agreeing- but-yes clothes should only be worn for protection. Please report on your nude(without shoes I trust) visits to the shops. If , as I suspect, you will have no trouble, then perhaps I can claim equal rights under the Sex Discrimination legislation or petition the European Court of Human Rights.

Well I took a deep breath, and I did it! I walked down to the local shop totally nude. It was 7am, but there were a few people about, I had some double takes, but there were no adverse comments. My heart was pounding at first, but I soon relaxed. It is only a short walk-200 yards each way, I met some early risers who smiled and said hello, one lady stopped for a short chat. The shopkeeper also chatted for a while, she had seen me barefoot in her shop before, but never nude, but my lack of clothes were not mentioned. I carried my purse in an empty plastic carrier bag, which I then used to carry my groceries-a newspaper, pint of milk and a bottle of lemonade. I returned home feeling great, I had done it. I have had no visit from the police, so nobody could have complained. I can now spend even more time nude . The boundaries of naturism seem to be crumbling, as far as I am concerned. Perhaps next I will try a nude jog or bike ride.

Author: Peter Date: 8/12/2003

Well done! I cannot see that the police would have cause to visit- what offence could you have committed? It was significant that a couple of women seemed quite happy to chat to you and not show signs of discomfort. I think that men initially will not know where to look, but it will be short lived. I really hope that you feel confident to regularly work out the front of your house and shop in the nude. Perhaps you could gradually start to visit the shop a bit later each morning and thus “test the water”. Does your partner go around nude at home? I presume that your partner is male and perhaps once your nudity has been accepted as the norm, he could slowly participate as well. It would be difficult for the authorities to accept your behaviour and not his. In your company, he could hardly be accused of “Exposing the male person with intent to insult a female”. Society seems to more readily accept the nude female than the male and I feel that we are unfairly discriminated against. I would not have the courage to be the first to go nude in public, but I would probably not be far behind the pioneers! Whereabouts do you live in the UK- I imagine it is south of England- more connected with attitude than climate?

Author: nudedoll Date: 8/12/2003

Thanks Peter. I have already thought about going later in the morning next time. I spent the morning tidying up the front garden and cleaning the front windows nude, many people must have seen me, including the postman, who had a really close look. My friend phoned me earlier to say she had heard of my naked shop. She is not a nudist, but is game for anything, so we plan to cycle naked soon around the town. Safety in numbers. I have cycled naked before, but only in remote areas. My partner feels the cold, so rarely goes nude, but accepts my way of life, and loves me for who I am. We all have characteristics our partners do not approve fully of, it is best to consider the many positive sides of someones personality, rather than one or two "negatives". Nobody is perfect. I could be a drug addict or violent, nudism seems moderate in comparison. Incidently, I live in mid Wales, but I am a non-Welsh speaker.

Author: Peter Date: 8/12/2003

Nudedoll, I must admit I am surprised that you live in Wales. However if it is a Welsh-speaking area I assume that your lack of the language makes anything else pale into insignificance! As the news appears to have spread round the district there seems no reason to hold back and, indeed, some may be disappointed if they don’t encounter you! There were reports that women where scouring the countryside by ‘car and horseback looking for Steven Gough! Whilst my wife has joined in naturist holidays for 30 years, I feel that she treats my lifestyle with resignation rather than enthusiasm. When I told a cousin she responded, “ With all your dangly bits- a least you are not molesting children!” (You have to say it with a Somerset/Devon accent to get the true effect). If you ever get bored or wish to discuss experiences or ideas feel free to e:mail, as we cannot clog up this site. I live in Essex so I am a safe distance away!

Author: nudedoll Date: 8/18/2003

There is a fault on my email at the moment, but I have tried. The area I live in is bilingual, so there is no problem. I spend most of the time working at home, nude of course. I can go to the local shop and work in the front naked. My partner goes to the supermarket for the big shop, so I have achieved my ideal scenario, as I can be nude as much as I like.

Author: Peter Date: 8/18/2003

Perhaps I will hear from you when your e:mail is up and running. In the meantime please keep us up to date on your nude trips tothe shop. Are you going later each day and are you still getting a favourable reaction?

Author: nudedoll Date: 8/19/2003

My trips to the shops are still confined to early morning, but I am more relaxed about it now, and I stroll rather than scamper, as I did on my first trip. I also enjoyed a 6am nude bike ride around the town with a girlfriend, which was mentioned in the local press, favourably I must add. I have been busy working from home recently, so I have had no other reason to go out, and my partner does the bulk of the shopping, so I have been totally nude for two weeks now. What is the record for longest time someone has been naked for, away from a nudist camp/beach? So going back to the original topic, I have got used to being naked, and I am not looking forward to being clothed again!

Author: rwyman Date: 8/19/2003

Here in the USA, and especially in the area where I live (the Bible belt), casual nudity is not the norm nor is it accepted. If I were to walk about nude in public, I would be quickly arrested. I have yet to find a neighbor who goes nude indoors as I do.

MK: Увы, я не знаю, было ли продолжение. Но это замечательно! Молодец nudedoll!
