Ни погода, ни тюрьма не помешали паломнику 21 века в его великом походе через всю Великобританию пешком и голышом. Стив Гаф, арестованный на прошлой неделе полицией города Инвернесс за появление на улицах без одежды, вышел на свободу. Тюрьма Гафа не пугает. С тех пор, как он начал свое путешествие, его арестовывали 13 раз. Правда, на сейчас Гафу все же пришлось пообещать судье прикрыть наготу - но только в городе.
Так что праздник тела продолжается. "Я это делаю, потому что мне это нравится. Я полон энергии, и после недели, проведенной взаперти, я снова отправляюсь в дорогу.
44-х летний Стив Гаф, бывший морской пехотинец, отец двоих детей, объявил одним из основных прав человека "право на наготу". И в июне отправился в путь. С рюкзаком за голыми плечами он пересекает Туманный Альбион с юга на север. От самой южной точки острова Великобритании, мыса Лендс-энд, к самой северной - шотландскому городку Джон-о- Гротс. Попытка путешественника пройти голым пешком от Лендс-Энд до Джон-о-Гроутс [как я уже писал - это пункты, вошедшие в Британии во все поговорки как "два конца земли", как в СССР иногда говорили "от Бреста до Владивостока"] снова оказалась остановлена тем, что он был арестован и провел ночь в отделении полиции в Пертшире [графство на северо-востоке равнинной части Шотландии с центром в городе Перт к западу от крупного портового города Данди].
Стив Гаф затем предстал перед полицейским судом в Перте в одежде, - что для него редкий случай, - и он должен будет вернуться в Перт в декабре для судебного процесса.

Уважаемый Стив!
Я крайне возмущен Вашим незаконным арестом и расцениваю это как позорный факт и нарушение прав Человека! Никто не вправе принуждать людей носить одежду!!! Люди вправе носить одежду, но НЕ ОБЯЗАНЫ это делать принудительно!
Практически 24 часа в сутки мы завернуты в чужеродные материалы. А это означает, что тело каждого из нас не функционирует так, как ему предназначено от природы. Не стоит полагаться полностью на сомнительные удобства посторонних предметов, в том числе и одежды. Количество поклонников естественного обнаженного образа жизни неуклонно увеличивается, и возможно, в недалеком будущем, человечество будет с удивлением взирать на утратившие всякий смысл названия модных одежд!
Природа наделила нас таким телом, какое мы имеем, и потому оно не может быть непристойным. Тело человека прекрасно, благородно, совершенно и это признавалось во все времена; оно традиционно прославляется и ныне: - в литературе, в произведениях искусства - в скульптуре, живописи, театре!
Нагота людей, по определению, не может оскорблять человеческое достоинство и общественную нравственность! Не следует стыдиться своего тела и уж совсем недопустимо осуждать человека за его естественную наготу. Быть без одежды - значит быть в естественном виде, и в этом нет ничего безнравственного, аморального и противоправного! Надо стыдиться не наготы, а грязных мыслей!
Человеческое тело не может вызывать отвращение у таких же людей. Нельзя признавать человека психически нормальным, если взгляд на обнаженное тело у него вызывает протест, брезгливость и ощущение нечто безобразного и грязного.
Обнаженный образ жизни приносит людям радость и наслаждение! Быть голым не только приятно и полезно, - это еще и настоятельная необходимость для поддержания душевного и физического здоровья! Чем меньше мы одеты, тем более мы открыты и дружелюбны. Снимая одежду, мы освобождаемся от накопившихся отрицательных психологических переживаний.
Как знать, - не приведут ли нас энтузиасты обнаженного образа жизни к открытию нового гуманизма, - когда люди, освободившись от ложного стыда, предрассудков, комплексов и нелепых условностей будут свободно решать для себя: быть им в одежде или обходиться без нее!

'Free Steve Gough' - the UK's 'Naked Rambler' You may have heard about Steve
Gough the 'Naked Rambler', who has been hiking nude from Lands End to John
O'Groats since June 16th. A range of media reports appears
here. Despite being arrested several times en-route in
England and Wales, our police have not detained him more than a few hours
and many charges have been dropped due to 'lack of evidence' - no one's
complained! However, Steve is now in prison in Inverness - on remand until
Oct 3rd! He's already been detained once for seven days. Now he's been
locked up since last Thursday Aug 28th! Why? What 'crime' has he committed?
None! The Scottish police and Sherrif's courts are simply fed up with him
being arrested and appearing repeatedly on charges of 'Breach of the Peace'!
Despite the fact that that is NOT a 'crime' which carries a prison sentence!
Because Steve is refusing to wear clothes in prison - he is protesting
against the ABUSE of his Human Rights - he is being kept in isolation in the
Segregation Unit. This means that he has no access to visitors, telephone,
exercise, etc. Just four walls and a bed - after walking over 700 miles to
almost universal praise from people around the world. Nudity - our natural
state - of course, is NOT a 'criminal offence' nor an affront to most people
and yet his liberty is being denied. Inspired by the nude photoshoot in
Selfridges where 600 people got naked for Spencer Tunick and 'art', the
Freedom to be Yourself campaign group is planning a 'Naked Celebration' in
support of Steve to bring to the public's attention the injustice of
imprisoning someone in the United Kingdom for their beliefs. It is hoped
upwards of 100 people from all across the country, will get naked inside
SELFRIDGES on Saturday 6th Sept at PRECISELY 2:28pm. They will then walk out
of the store, onto Oxford Street and make their way, to a nearby rallying
point where after a photo opportunity and interviews with the media will
dress and disperse Just in case you think I'm kidding read the Southampton

search on their website - they've been following Steve from the start!)
People who took part in the Selfridges and Saatchi gallery 'art' events
found them a deeply moving experience - it is hope similar numbers will be
motivated to put themselves in touch with their humanity and help to stop
the persecution and suffering Steve is enduring! It will also SHOW to this
Government - a government that wants to 'outlaw' public 'non-sexual' nudity
under Clause 68 'Exposure' of the proposed 'Sexual Offences Bill' - that
people don't have a problem with nudity, and don't need this Government
criminalising our bodies! The UK is not as 'free' as we'd like to think it
is, and with this Government were losing more freedoms all the time! Many
who have commented in the media (for a BBC News article and readers comments
see here that Steve should be
left alone and allowed to get on with his walk. Please do NOT tell the
police! It is likely they already know and UNLIKELY they will take any
action to stop this peaceful walk. By law police *MUST* give a warning to
get dressed - to "stop your disorderly conduct" - BEFORE anyone can be
arrested under Section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986, for "behaviour likely
to cause harassment, alarm or distress". 'Breach of the Peace' cannot be
used in cases of simple nudity; there must be a threat of violence to people
or property. The letter (see
here from the
Metropolitan police solicitor refers. 400 of the original 'posers' for
Spencer Tunick have been invited! And maybe more will get to hear about it!
The plan is to arrive anytime before 2:30pm individually, in couples or
threes - no more - so it will be impossible to say who is to take part.
People could be anywhere in store and will strip precisely at 2:28pm before
leaving the shop, feeling proud, confident and elated. Just think how
'elated' Steve will feel in his cell when he hears about this! We expect
people to make a day out of it and combine it with a visit to some of the
sights of London - something to tell their grand children! Of course, nudity
is NOT compulsory to join in this celebration of being human - being
together as part of the human race in supporting Steve and making a stand
against discrimination and persecution of those that choose NOT to be
ashamed of their bodies. We expect others, families too, to just turn up at
2:30pm OUTSIDE Selfridges and follow the 'human race'! People can get naked
as they walk if they like! We all know kids don't have 'hangups' about
nudity - not until they learn them from adults! After people leave the shop
we will walk a mile or two to a grassed area where we can chat, relax, just
chill-out and get dressed when we're ready to leave. Others might stay nude
and go on to a park or a pub or wherever. It's their right to do what they
want. The Freedom to be Yourself! Shoppers, and people on the street will
look in amazement - they'll be mesmerised - not shocked - not offended -
when all of a sudden they find themselves amongst two or three hundred of
their fellow shoppers naked - they might even join in. Join us to highlight
the injustice and persecution of people who want to exercise there
fundamental human right to choose when to wear clothes! Clothes are a
right - NOT an obligation! We're all born naked - and fundamentally the
same. Many believe we are created in the image of God. People can belief
what they like, but should remember, we all have a 'physical self', which
many deny and abuse to their cost. The human body is not inherently
offensive or disgusting. We don't have 'private' parts - just beautiful
bodies to admire and behold. It's simply natural - it's what we are - that's

What are they going to do? Question everybody that enters the store that

bodies. Of course, we've nothing against Selfridges and think that the
association with their 'art' installation make this an ideal place to start.

Шотландский нудист возвращен в тюрьму через два дня после освобождения
Шотландский эксгибиционист (ТАК НАГЛО ЕГО НАЗВАЛИ НА ЛЕНТЕ.РУ!!) Стив
Гаф (Steve Gough) был возвращен в тюрьму города Инвернесс (Inverness)
через два дня после выхода на свободу. Ему предъявлено то же самое
обвинение: аморальное поведение на публике. Уже на следующий день после
освобождения Стив был замечен гуляющим в голом виде в окрестностях
Инвернесса.
Это уже двенадцатый арест Гафа по одному и тому же поводу. Кроме того,
ему придется в четвертый раз предстать перед судом округа.
Как сообщает газета The Guardian, возмущенный шериф Инвернесса даже
отказался выпустить Гафа под залог. Суд назначен на 3 октября с

небольшого городка (забыл название) в Гэмпшире в Южной Англии.
А последние аресты действительно имели место в Шотландии - в конце его
"голого похода" через всю Британию от Лендс-Энд в Корнуолле до
Джон-о-Гротс на севере Шотландии.
Досадно, что Лента.Ру, которая до сих пор была одним из наиболее
объективных и профессиональных общероссийских интернет-СМИ, так
"прокололась" и дала неправильную и необъективную информацию о Стиве
Гафе (как бы ни относиться к самой его демонстрации).

Голый путешественник Стивен Гаф вчера вечером снова попал за решетку,
всего несколько часов спустя после своего освобождения.
Гаф, 44 лет, только что было возобновил в пятницу свое путешествие от
Лендс-Энд до Джон-Гроутс после своего освобождения из тюрьмы в
г. Инвернесс.
Он был приговорен к трем месяцам заключения по обвинению в нарушении
общественного спокойствия, но был тут же освобожден, поскольку он уже
находился под стражей с 6 октября.
Гаф из г. Истли в графстве Гемпшир вернулся к мосту Кроматри - месту,
где он был последний раз арестован, - чтобы продолжить свое
путешествие на север, не имея на себе ничего кроме туристских ботинок,
носков и рюкзака, несмотря на проливной дождь и пронизывающий ветер.

My Journey So Far
How did I become involved in all this naked stuff? Well, when I think back
I suppose I was going along with the way most people cover themselves up
without thinking much about it: it was just what I did because everyone
else did it (unconscious living I think they call it!). Then one event
that really sticks in my mind is after visiting Studland (a naturist beach
on the south coast of England) I was sat with my family and friends on a
'normal' beach and I started to think, well, why not here? So I stripped
off and enjoyed the sun to it's full extent. The only remark I recall, on
quite a busy beach, was on leaving the water, a man passed me and uttered
pervert in my direction, an insight perhaps, into what for many people the
naked body represents in this sick society.
My personal philosophy has been hung around the idea of being myself for
twenty years or so (I was even designing and printing 'T' shirts saying 'B
YOURSELF') and for me that has been the way I've been heading ever since;
trying to grapple with the concept - to be or not to be - and
understanding the fear, in myself, standing in my way.
The change from occasional nakedness to more public expression came when I
emigrated to Canada. I didn't find work immediately and I was asked to
write a mission statement for the co-housing community that I had just
moved into. I knew I was good at focussing on things when I went for a
walk, so off I went, and I had the most beautiful experience, not only
being able to focus, but feeling very connected and empowered, which moved
me to tears. Well, you can imagine after such an experience I started to
go for walks more often until I was going every evening and very often
reaching a blissed out state. The resulting effect was the experience of
ok-ness and the natural desire to want to express that in the way I lived
my life. One of the ways I did this was being more daring in my nakedness
at lakes and beaches because, I thought, if I'm ok, then my body which is
part of me, is ok also, so why should I hide it?
Something else happened that focused my energy specifically on nakedness:
in the co-housing community where I lived, the children, often initiated
by my daughter who up until that point had been raised in a relaxed way,
would often shed their clothes and run around naked in the courtyard, much
to my delight and perhaps a little enviousness of their freedom. However,
it wasn't long before I noticed some adults being uncomfortable, for
whatever reason, with this spontaneity, and they sought through various
subtle suggestions and comments to get the children to cover up, for
'their own good' of course! This alarmed me greatly, as I not only wanted
to protect their innocence, but I was witnessing before my very eyes the
process in which shame is passed down from generation to generation:
adults too afraid to examine their own feelings of shame or awkwardness
and take responsibility for it, instead, perpetuating that self-hate and
fear by making our children feel wrong. The more I reflected on this whole
sad conditioning process and got clearer on the significance it has played
in damaging me, the more determined I've become to face the fear that has
kept me from doing something about it: the fear of disapproval.
I'm like anyone: I want to be loved. As children the approval of our
parents and significant others are tantamount to our survival: we will do
anything to be loved, including give ourselves up. As adults the approval
of others is less critical, although, still one of the most powerful of
forces (just start looking at why you do things and you will see how high
up the agenda pleasing others is in your motives). For me the
connectedness I have experienced with myself, has acted as a
countermeasure to my dependence on others for my approval of myself as a
human being. It's not that I don't want approval from others, I still do,
but it's not at any cost. I've come to realise, that if the words 'be true
to yourself' are to mean anything, then one can't go around asking
everyone "how would you like me to be"? One has to just do it and accept
the risk that some people might not approve, or face the bigger
consequence of not being connected to yourself, and the more I've
experienced this connectedness the more important it has become in my life.
This may paint a picture to some people of an attitude of not caring about
others, but how can one care about others if one cannot care for oneself?
If I can't stand by myself to be all that I am and can be, then how can I
give others the freedom to do the same? If I am not for me then who will
be? My own experience is if I do something out of obligation or guilt then
I feel resentful which eats away at relationships eventually destroying
any love that was there. And if you take a look at society there's plenty
of evidence of the resentment people have as it manifests itself in the
form of anger and destruction. I believe that if I act according to what's
best for me and in so doing I harm others, the mistake is not in putting
myself first but in misunderstanding what's best for me.
So, my naked activism is firstly and most importantly about me standing up
for myself, a declaration of myself as a beautiful human being, an
expression of my ok-ness in the face of so much self hate, and I invite
others to join me in celebrating this, in a show of solidarity of what it
means to be a human being not ashamed of ourselves in our most natural
state.

this historic event. Well, don't despair for I have a plan! Each day I
will be arriving at a new destination and I will communicate that new
destination to you in the form of a grid reference in the dialogue page.
I'll be arriving each day at around 6pm and departing each morning at
approximately 9ish, which gives you all plenty of scope to choose what
time you want to join me (us). Please feel free to drop in for as long
or short as you want. There will be no pressure from me for you to do
anything in the spirit of The Freedom To Be Yourself. If you wish to
stay and walk with me (us) or not, it's your choice. Remember, I shall
be covering about 20 miles a day, so if you do decide to walk, please be
conscious of the distance. Again in the spirit of TFTBY - what you wear
is up to you, I have no preferences.

экстpавагантный номеp. Hа этот pаз он обнажился пpямо на боpту самолета.
47-летний Стивен Гоф летел в Эдинбуpг на судебное слушание - власти Шотландии
обвиняют его в 4 случаях нудизма в запpещенных для этого местах. Hо до суда
нудист так и не доехал. Полиция аpестовала его пpямо в аэpопоpту Эдинбуpга за
очеpедной случай амоpального поведения.
Адвокатам Гофа пpедложили самим объяснить подзащитному, что он вел себя
'нехоpошо', когда pаздевался в самолете. Однако неизвестно как суд отpеагиpует
на любые их объяснения, учитывая богатую нудистскую биогpафию 'Голого
бpодяги'.
Сам Гоф, кстати, в пpошлом моpской пехотинец, не видит в своих поступках
ничего пpотивозаконного. Власти Великобpитании пpидеpживаются дpугого мнения.
За два своих нудистских путешествия чеpез всю Бpитанию Гоф подвеpгался
пpеследованию со стоpоны блюстителей поpядка.
'В нашей стpане не существует закона, запpещающего человеку ходить pаздетым.
Каждый имеет пpаво одеваться так, как он хочет. Пусть недовольные считают, что
это мой любимый вид одежды. Я ведь не обсуждаю их манеpу одеваться!' - заявил
нудист пpессе.
Британские нудисты организовали марш через всю страну
Они стартовали в июне 2005 года из самой юго-западной точки Великобритании,
Лэндз Энд. За время пути Стефана несколько раз арестовывали.
Первый раз это случилось в сентябре, нудиста обвинили в нарушении общественного
порядка и приговорили к двум неделям ареста. Второй раз его арестовали, когда
он значительно продвинулся на север. Стефан был выслан обратно в ту же тюрьму,
где он провел две недели, теперь уже он вынужден был просидеть там два месяца
за "нарушение условий освобождения из-под ареста".
Финишировал "обнаженный пешеход", как его окрестила британская пресса, в
шотландском местечке Джон О'Гроатс.
В итоге на путь длиной в 1400 километров, который, предположительно, должен был
занять сорок дней, нудист и его подруга потратили около восьми месяцев.
Стефана не остановил зимний холод. Он утверждает, что не испытывал дискомфорта,
когда двигался, однако сильно замерзал, если останавливался, чтобы
поприветствовать зевак, выходивших посмотреть на пару нудистов.
Цель путешествия Стефана - разрушить предубеждения общества по поводу
человеческой наготы.

If the certainty of having your collar felt, metaphorically of course, by the
local police every few days is not enough to put you off walking the length of
Britain naked, then the February wind blowing off the Pentland Firth should at
least be a deterrent. So, as the Naked Rambler and his girlfriend finally
arrived at the northernmost tip of Scotland yesterday, their first thoughts
turned to clothes.
"Quick, get them on," said Stephen Gough to his partner, Melanie Roberts. It is
a phrase that has been muttered, without success, by a good many people since
the pair set out in their birthday suits from Land's End last June. The lady in
the shop in Shropshire where they stopped to buy piccalilli said it. The kirk
minister affronted at their flesh said it. The local magistrates said it. The
prison governor said it. But where man failed, only nature could prevail.

Нудист-путешественник завершил свой поход несмотря на то, что его дважды
сажали в тюрьму за оскорбление общественной нравственности. 44-летний Стивен
Гоу отправился в путь семь месяцев назад с мыса Лендс-Энд - крайней южной
точки страны. В четверг днем он прибыл в крайнюю северную точку страны -
город Джон-о-Гроатс, сообщает Ananova. За это время нудист преодолел 1,5
тыс. км. Пройтись пешком через Великобританию с рюкзаком за плечами и одетым

вроде женитьбы, и мы задумываемся: что я буду делать после этого? А потом
зачастую наступает разочарование, - заявил Гоу, закончив путешествие. - Я же
пытался просто наслаждаться самим процессом. Потому что нужно находить
удовольствие в настоящем". Ночь с четверга на пятницу нудист провел в
Джон-о-Гроатс. "Первым делом я устрою себе хороший ужин, - сообщил он перед
окончанием путешествия. - Последние несколько дней я вообще толком не ел. И
необходимости пить воду из источников у меня уже нет". Кроме того, в
качестве финального аккорда Гоу хотел искупаться в море, даже несмотря на
низкую температуру и холодный ветер. 23 января он отправится обратно.
